LP Blaze took on experienced Cougars in a replay of a cancelled Berkshire Premier League match.
Blaze started strong and went three goals up, great interceptions in the defensive end from Liz Johns (GK) & Laura Corscadden (GD) . Cougars settled and excellent shooting ending the quarter 11-7 to Cougars.
Q2 was similar to the first some great play down the court by Charley Frain (C) and Sophie Grindey (WA and usually WD !) but Cougars played ahead to 24-16 at half time.
In q3 Cougars showed their experience and dominated the third quarter and converted nearly all of their goals.
A talking to from Coach Lisa Wise before Q4 and they came back strong, there was some amazing play and much stronger attacking play, looking into the circle option first and focussing on placing the ball on the 1st or 3rd second, and Blaze took the quarter 14 – 9 .
Final result 47-37 .
This was a fantastic result against a strong experienced Cougars squad plus a great game to watch.
