Lightning took on a rather tall Bluebirds this week over in Maidenhead . With a slightly different team than the previous week the first quarter was pretty even while we found our feet and despite an early lead some good, long-range shooting from Bluebirds meant that we finished the first quarter 9-9.
We gave each other a few pointers in the first quarter and were able to settle in a bit more and work together better. We still made some silly mistakes and despite Bluebirds using them to their advantage we were able to start pulling away with a few goals.
Into the third quarter and we had got into a nice stride and were able to use our opportunities in the circle with some good teamwork and nice shooting from Kerry Oliver (GA/GS) and Amanda McClaren (GS/GA) as well as the defence, new comer Emily George (GD) & Charlotte Morris (GK) working well to get rebounds where available and put pressure on the opposition.
We carried our lead into the fourth quarter and kept our stride – final score of 29-15 it was a good night for LP Lightning! #blackandred
