Q1: A strong Wokingham Red packed with Regional players, took control early on with accurate shooting and some key interceptions, but Storm kept applying the pressure with especially good defence work from Abbi Price (GK), Adele Brickley (GD) & Kate Martin (WD) combining well, to bring the score to 11 – 5 (to WR) at the end of Q1.
Q2. We went down to 6 players after Clare Barbour (C) took a dramatic tumble, having to come off to get cleaned up. Being a player down actually worked to Storms advantage, as Wokingham struggled to find their flow. We pulled back with patient feeds from Megan Walmsley (WA) & good conversions in the attacking circle by Chloe Reschwamm (GA) & Lisa Wise (GS) to end qtr 12:17
Q3. This quarter saw both teams equally matched, both fighting hard for each ball. More great defensive work from both ends saw great interceptions. End of quarter Wokingham lead 25:19
Q4. Wokingham came out in the quarter fighting with some fabulous flying interceptions by Wokingham’s Kayleigh Sutton, and pulled back their lead to win the match 24:34
